Eligibility & General Information
Students may use CSP scholarships for accredited technical certification programs, or for 2- or 4-year undergraduate or master's degree programs.
Scholarships typically begin at $2,500 with $500 annual increases for successful academic progress, awarding a total of $13,000 per Scholar.
CSP awards 11 new, renewable scholarships each year. 10 of these are designated for eligible high school seniors, including an Alternative Learning student, and the 11th scholarship is designated for an eligible adult applicant.
Each scholar is paired with a Navigator—a local adult volunteer who supports and encourages the student all the way through to the student’s certificate or degree.
Eligibility Guidelines: Charlottesville Promise Scholarships are available to income-eligible Charlottesville Public School System high school seniors and Charlottesville Public School System graduates or GED recipients who are City residents, as well as City municipal and City School System employees, no matter where they reside.
Family Size Maximum Household Income
The Charlottesville Scholarship Program provides scholarships to low- and moderate-income people in the Charlottesville community who wish to pursue post-secondary education, but who lack the financial resources to do so. To qualify for these need-based scholarships, the applicant’s household income must be lower than the maximum income for the applicant’s family size, as shown on the guidelines below.
